Hello here, a little back story about my case(F2A with my child as derivative).

My current DQ is March 2023 and my husband filed a separate 1I30 for our child in August 2023.  My husband has finally naturalized and we looking forward to upgrade my case.

However I’m wondering if my son and I could be scheduled for same interview date; considering my husband is yet to request an expedite from USCIS to approve our child’s case, then to NVC before getting DQ (which will hopefully be in December 2023 or January 2024).

My country has a year long wait from DQ to interview and I wouldn’t want to have leave our child behind.

Husband needs to IMMEDIATELY contact NVC and the consulate.  He needs to email NVC a copy of his Naturalization Certificate and request upgrade for both cases. He also needs to request both cases be interviewed together. They need to hold your case there at NVC until child's case si these.

He needs to contact USCIS TODAY to request an expedite for child's case. !!!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Case was approved yesterday after Hubby requested expedited through his senator. Waiting for welcome letter from NVC now.

1. Is it possible to get scheduled for interview together? My DQ is March 2023 and son will probably be February 2024 DQ.

2. How do I ensure we get interviewed together?

Contact NVC and tell them to hold off scheduling your interview until son's case has been DQ'ed. Ask them to schedule the cases together.
