To whom should I suppose to Address the Police Report

I have submitted the i130 last week.

We are getting ready for the NVC stage now.

 

1) Is it OK to obtain a police report now? In the beneficiary's country, the validity period of a police report is one year.

2) To whom should I suppose to Address the Police Report?

1.  No.  If you submitted the I-130 last week, expect about a year for it to get approved.  It will expire before your interview.

 

2.  No one.  Once your case gets to NVC, get all the police clearance certificate(s) and upload them to NVC.

 

What is your category? Spouse, child, parent or sibling of USC; spouse or child of LPR?

In my beneficiary’s country The police clearance certificate should be addressed to the person who ask the report.

Probably just to the beneficiary, but don’t get it yet- it’s way too early.

I guess it could be addressed to "To Whom It May Concern"?

I waited until our application was recevied at the NVC and then he went for his police report at his city which took about one hour.  He scanned it to me and then when we have to upload documents I had it.  In Indonesia it is not addressed to anyone in particular, it's a police report for that person.

In Thailand we had it in 15 minutes. We've told them that we need it for K1 visa and paid 'expedited' fees. Police officer run the report on the spot and she gave us the printouts. Once you tell them what it is for they will know what to do.

It does matter which country, so check it out at the link.  Far to early to get it now.  Any "expiration date" printed on the report is irrelevant to NVC or the Consulate.  They care about how long since the issue date.  What country ?

Good old Thailand, Special police headquarters, building number 13, the old ink on the slate of glass for fingerprints, and a circa 1980 logitech camera on top of the computer in the little room in the back for the photo for the report. Also, like you said, you can wait 4 weeks, or get it on the spot with a small transfer of "expedite" fee to the right persons bank account.
