I believe it does make a difference by showing you care enough to be there for support.

If the consular for some reason has doubt about a real relationshp than the USC's presence could "sway" the consular

to grant the visa without much fuss. It is also embassy specific.

In 1. countries it doesn't matter if everything else is ok but in some 3. countries it can and has made a difference.

I regret not being present at my fiance's interview and here we are 8 months later still pending.

If the money is there to travel go for it.

my friend told me that the USC's presence can make a difference to the CO. he said that the presence of the USC is a big proof for them that the relationship is bonafide and is still an ongoing relationship. well thats his own opinion. hehe thanks

For me, it does makes a difference. The "solid proof" you can present to them about bonafide relationship is to present your petitioner. The mere fact that the petitioner took time to be with you is good enough evidence. And its not true that they will not let the USC talk during the interview. The pre-interviewer and the CO asked my husband about 2-3 questions. The CO even asked my husband about the pictures I presented to him... good thing my husband remembers when it was taken and what we (and the family) were doing. I believe having my husband during my interview made a big difference. 2 of my friends (one on IR-visa and one on a K-1 visa), we had the same week interviews (April 2007), both of them were placed on AR.

If he can be there for you during the interview... it would be nice. Good luck!

I agree, having the petitioner there does make a difference. The CO is just another human being trying to do a job. If he knows that the petitioner is there, it's got to have an impact on how he will review your petition. Unless, of course, he's a donkey, er...something like that.

Oh, yeah, my brother went to visit his fiance to show support when it was time for her interview. They had some missing documents, but him being there made all the difference. She passed and is now living in the states.

you could be right it helps for him to be there, but it also depends on how often is your fiance in phil... my fiance wanted to be there during my interview but since it was so unexpected we thought our interview was on feb. 07, the embassy gave us a slot on dec. 27, 06 after the holiday break. and he just recently visited me around nov. so it was a tight sked for his business... what is good though is that for the past 9 months he visited me 3 times already spending 2 weeks every visit. so the CO was impressed... i wanted him to be there (who doesnt  lol)... but to be honest too, i was kind of scared that the CO might ask him a question like the names of my relatives and significant dates and that he might not be able to answer, knowing him, after you shake his hands and introduce yourself, 10 seconds later, he forgots your name  (not a good character for a businessman lol) ... so if your fiance's gona be there, he better memorize all the fact coz some CO will ask some questions lol...

it would be great if your fiance is with you but it's not a 100% assurance for approval. Just be ready with the requirements and answers for the questions coz sometimes interviewers are rude.

Good Luck.

Hi, I am not speaking from personal experience, but from the experience of friends. The USE in Manila takes a hard line in the interviews. They are at best skeptical of every Filipina immigrating to the US. My friends have all stated that if the petitioner is in the lobby during the interview, the CO is impressed and lightens up on the interviewee, and with the Philippines being the hardest nation to immigrate to the US from (go figure) I think it makes perfect sense to be there, not to mention the moral support it gives your better half. Best wishes to all.

Small world!

Saw one case where the petitioner went to the interview and it turned out the CO and he were old college buddies.

Shoe in!

If you have bad luck don't go as the CO may turn out to be your ex wife!
