I need to vent! I've been getting so nervous lately, like I always do about my upcoming trip to visit my husband in a couple weeks. I have a huge fear that I will be denied entry at the border and that we will be devasted when we find out I can't visit. The fear is pretty much irrational, since I always arrive at the border with my paperwork in order, and will be coming even more prepared than usual this time around (two employment letters from full time jobs stating my expected return, return plane tickets, bank statements, pay stubs, plus my complete case file for the CR1.) But I think anyone on here can understand the nervousness since they really do hold our lives in their hands throughout this whole journey.

Anyways, I was working away talking to one of the girls here at work and told her how excited I am to finally see my husband again. Her response "Oh don't get all excited, everything will just blow up in your face."

What the hell kind of reply is that? It floors me sometimes how ignorant people can be when they don't realize how stressful this whole process already is on people like us, and especially how hard the time apart is when you don't know when the next time you will see each again is.

Anyways, sorry for the mindless ranting. It's 12:30am and I had no one else to vent at

I know how that nervousness feels misty and it can be awful. I get worried to death over nothing most of the time!! But you are so prepared so don't even take that stupid comment into mind! Some people are always miserable.

Misty, just know that she's a royal ###### and you're not. People really don't understand how difficult it is to be separated until they're in the same situation. A friend fo mine was dating someone who was living in the Cayman Islands and I didn't understand how much it sucked until I met my husband and had to deal with long distance. Lucky for her though, her man is a Canadian citizen and he moved back and they didn't have to deal with immigration.

Anyway, I understand the nervousness and anxiety and over preparation. It's my coping method for all this immigration #######. You'll do fine at the POE. Your case is complete at NVC which is a good indication you're coming back!

The way I look at it, for people like her, being who they are is their own punishment. They have to live with themselves all the time.

A lot of us "cope" that way. The nervousness is normal. I was nervous at my medical when I knew that I had nothing to worry about. And I've been nervous entering the US through all this too, but I was always let in.

Shes probably just bitter. IGNORE HER. Dont worry about the POE...i had a million papers with me and was sweating bullets and scared to death and he guy didnt even ask me for a return ticket. Its good to be prepared but dont sweat it. Just be honest and you will be fine. Enjoy your time with your husband you deserve it. Then take alot of pictures and show that meanie at your work and make her even more jealous hahahahah.

My husband doesn't understand this style of coping. When I fuss and talk endlessly about paperwork and all this ####### it's so I can "get it out", not necessarily that I'm super paranoid or something. I've tried to explain to him that it's a way of working this all out in my brain, but he just doesn't get it. Maybe it's a girl thing?

That's probably it...some of those that are jealous or envious tend to be the ones most critical. She probably wishes she has what you have...someone to love her.

You guys are the best, I feel so much better now. So much of what you said rang true. She doesn't have a man in her life, and hasn't for years, so I'm sure she is just being bitter.

I guess I also needed some reassurance about the whole POE thing since that was what was really stressing me out after her comment, but just hearing from all of you who have done this a million times before made me feel so much better It sucks that we have to deal with people like this on top of shoulder all the stress and obstacles that the immigration puts us through during all this, but that is just life. I hope she finds someone soon who will make her happy again so that maybe she will stop being such a stick in the mud.
