Medical appointment but rescheduling London CR1 interview?

Hi Visajourney,

Finally received an interview date for the 20th December but sadly that day is unfeasible, so I will be looking to reschedule online.

My medical appointment is however scheduled in for the 24th of November and I will be attending it very shortly.

Does anyone have any experience with cancelling+rescheduling an interview before/after having performed the medical appointment? Does it cause any issues?

I ask because the medical appointment explicitly states to bring the letter with the interview date. In my case this would not be a valid interview date due to rescheduling.

Many thanks,

You probably need to contact the consulate directly for instructions to reschedule.

The 6 month clock starts ticking with the medical.

Our rescheduled interview would be whichever earliest one we can take in the new year, with the medical expiring at the end of May.

VJ posts about recent reschedules at the London embassy seem to indicate average availability being quicker than 5 months (closer to 1 or 2), though with all averages it's a risk we should consider. Thank you for the reminder.

On November 6th, my wife was given an interview date (also December 20th) that is no good for our schedule.  We went online and registered it with the website per the e-mail instructions, and once it was registered we were able to cancel it.  Only then can you reschedule it.  We checked for the past 10 days and finally this morning we were able to get a new one scheduled, for January 8th.  I'm pretty sure that you won't be able to get it rescheduled any earlier than your given date, but you can check into that to see.

After reading your comment about availability cropping up yesterday for early Jan we quickly cancelled and were able to instantly rebook for Jan 10th. Thank you very much for the heads up, this has saved a lot of stress over the holidays!

An FYI for anyone reading due to the title. The Embassy wasn't much help but after calling the London Visa Medicals they said it doesn't matter if you reschedule your visa interview to a separate date, provided it's within the 6 month validity the medical results are applicable.
