Hi,

I have decided to create this post to talk about Hacking's most outstanding callers. @Crazy Cat @Boiler @Timona I would love to hear your thoughts on Carol's husband minute 27.

I usually love the calls that involve a suspicion of marriage fraud. This one does not... But I just cannot imagine how someone can be so smart and advocate for themselves like Befon did. Enjoy.

As far as I am concerned there is only one outstanding caller to Hacking's show.

Did I hear Hacking mention VJ, perhaps he will be joining us?

I think the American term is Jailhouse Lawyer. I think there is an Army version as well, he does mention he has some sort of legal background but not the details. The cruz of this case seems to be that he persuaded a judge to release him and 99 compatriots on bail during the height of covid due to jail conditions and then argued he must have been paroled in because there was no other way he could have been released, sounds logical to me. And then as we always recommend found a USC to marry, Carol.

I always wonder what the Asylum claim was, he was a regular visitor, I am going to guess too regular and was being turned around so claimed asylum.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I also might be mistaken, but I don't think Kenya is in a turmoil worth seeking asylum

I have a link somewhere that lists all the Nationalities of asylum seekers, not many countries are excluded

I think so, but that has negative connotations.

Mention VJ, think that was sometime this weekend.

I found the case.  Impressive self-advocacy.

https://casetext.com/case/njuguna-v-staiger  - he does have an LLB and LLM. Not an amateur.

B sounds much older than he really is.

He claimed persecution, IIRC. This is utter BS to me as there's no such thing in Kenya, same as a lawyer I met on Reddit who wants to seek asylum for a female Kenyan. Reason to be deployed? Mau Mau. Mau Mau happened before independence (1963). How's it relevant to someone less than 60 years old? Or even older than that at this time (2023)?

I've always maintained and will maintain, that Kenyans are scummy people. He's one of them. The good thing on his part is, he used his brain. Bad thing is, knowing Kenyans, he's going to start telling his friends what he did, encouraging them to do the same and he'll represent them/ guide them. Next thing you know, he has a law business in US, is a celebrity back home and soon will be called to talk on Kenyan national news...

If the useless Kenyan ambassador to US picks this up, he'll be paraded to the Kenyan president as "someone who's used his brain to defeat US." He'll soon get big government post/ position.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

It would be interesting to know which Countries people have not claimed Asylum from, I always wondered if I could have put forward a  passable case using what seems to be the 9th Circuit definition.

Anyway Hacking has his 5 hour special today so am going watch the last 30 minutes.

Here is a website you might find interesting:

https://www.unhcr.org/refugee-statistics/download/?url=TspqC3

- asylum applications for the year 2022.

Watched the first half hour.

Not sure when @Rocio0010 was on... I'm sure she was a guest at some point in the 5 hours. Maybe she will give a spoiler so I can jump right to that part.
