We are waiting to get established in this city before having his mom apply for a visitors visa. she's like 63 or older so I hope they approve her. The only problem is that she can't travel alone so someone would have to go with her. I would really like for the youngest BIL to come visit (since he speaks english and I like him the best) but I seriously doubt they will approve him.

Visited Jordan-December 2004

Interview-December 2005

Visa approved-December 2005, 1 week later after supplying "more information"

Arrived U.S.A.-December 2005

Removed Conditions-September 2008

Divorced in December 2013

His parents were able to get 5 year visas very easily. We applied while he was still in Jordan. I sent a notorized letter stating that I would take care of their expenses during their stay and insure they would go back to Jordan. I also sent a letter of employment from my company and some bank statements. They were only asked 2 questios, when do you want to go and why are going. They kept their passports and within a week they had 5 year visas.

His brother also got a 5 year visa.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

Do they own a lot of property or something proving that they'd go back? I worry 'cause his sisters really have nothing holding them there, although they'd never ever want to leave Egypt other than to see their first and only neice/nephew.

Well they have a lot of land they own and some buildings but didn't show the deeds to anything. They were never asked for it.

Hmm. His brothers own their own houses, work for the municipality, have spouses, etc but the sisters have nothing...

JP/AO-- so what is this 5 year visa? Does that mean they can basically travel back and forth for 5 years on vacations without having to apply before each time? That sounds kind of neat.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Its totally different from Israel. I feel like I have constant visiting family members. Right now I have my in laws and my brother in law here visiting. My in laws came for two months to help out with our newborn and my brother in law just came for an extended visit (one month). I am sure in a few months someone else will come to visit. I guess I should be thankful that they can do this since it doesnt seem to be the case for all countries. Up until now I was wishing I didnt have visitors from Israel all of the time!!!!

Edited to say that they do have to get visas... but I dont think they are particularly hard to get. My brothers in law with no ties, wives, kids, etc have been able to get a visitor visa.
