Hi Everyone,

Driss had his interview today with the infamous blonde woman, and he was denied. :crying: I am kind of sketchy on the details as of now, but I am investigating what went wrong. They had all the proof of relationship, notarized letters from family, photos, etc. and it was scanned so they had it before the interview. Apparently, they kept his passport after the interview, and gave him the 221g stating that the petition would be returned. Later today, they called him back and told him to come pick up the passport. His interview was in English and he said he understood her well, and he said that she understood all his responses, clearly. Basically, from what I have ascertained thus far, the Consular Officer was satisfied with all of the evidence of relationship I gathered and we nearly got an approval, but something went wrong during the interview, and she told him "I'm confused." He asked her "Why?", so that he could clarify any potential issues and she responded with "I'm sorry your petition is being returned so you can ask USCIS any further questions." He said that a friend that he met 2 weeks before while getting the Medical at that Dr. Khadija's office, also got denied, along with a host of other people today. There were lots of people there, and most got denials. He also said that even though his interview was scheduled for 8:00am, they didn't see him until around 2:00pm. He faxed me a copy of the 221G and I faxed it along with a letter to the Senator that helped us before. Other than that, I don't really know what else to do, but I do need to coordinate with others like Kiya and Limah and the rest of the unofficial "returned petitions task force". :help:

Thanks to everyone who gave advice, support, and direction throughout the process.

Best Regards and Have a Great Weekend,

iysha

what did the 221g say?

There were 2 boxes that had an "X" on them, and the first box at the top of the page gave some generic response stating that he was ineligible for a visa, and the second box said that the petition would be returned to USCIS. I don't have it on me right now, but I'll try to post exactly what it said sometime this weekend. It says Optional Form 194 at the bottom.

It's incomprehensible to me that these people cannot just tell the person to their face why they are deciding to deny them. If they're going to do such a blatant act they should at least have the balls to tell you why.

I am so sorry that you are going through this but I agree that you are acting very strong right now. Although that is great don't be scared to let it all out. It's natural to do and we'll be here for you if and when it comes. (the meltdown that is) (F)

Are you sure that he was denied? The first interview that Hicham had, the blonde lady was mean as he-ll! She didn't even believe he was who he said he was. Then she gave him this document, that at first I thought it meant he had been denied but they were really wanting another dayum piece of paper from my husband's asylum case that had been dismissed. It took a while to track down this document, but we finally got it to them. Then we went into AP he-ll. They NEVER asked for my husband's passport and still have not. Since we are filing an I-601, maybe the procedure is different. I don't know. But I believe you can appeal. I would definitely talk to some more people on VJ. I would definitely like to see the paper she gave him...maybe I can tell you if it's the same thing we got...and they definitely didn't deny him at the second interview.

I really wish you the best of luck! I know this is agonizing. :(

Iysha,

I am so so sorry that your fiancé was denied today, but please take solace in the fact that there are some women here who turned their denials around. I cannot imagine how you are feeling now,but if you want to move up our lunch date to tomorrow that is fine, and it is still my treat or if you want to just talk, pm me and I will send you my phone number. This too shall pass and you will get through it. You know right before my fiancé entered the line at the embassy for his interview, I told him remember honey all the CO can do is tell us where we will live, he or she cannot tell us whether or not we will be together.

Good Luck (F)
