I did apply for my spouse ( submitted date Aug,25,2021)who lives in Pakistan and the case was in USCIS where I was Green Card holder, then I became citizen now my wife case at NVC (since May 2023) and I got submitted the documents and its been approved in the month of Aug, 2023.

My question is since they put my case as a IR1 because of citizenship, how would they quick they proceed now for my wife's petition. would they cut off any time period since I was green card holder to citizenship?

Note:  Its been three month that my wife case is in NVC and normally they take that much time.

Thanks hoping for positive response.

@powerpuff  I mean to say I was green card holder when the case was in USCIS and then I became citizen and I requested to put my case a IR1 as I became citizen. So, after converting the status how does they calculate the time, don't they include the time we waited as a Green Card holder?

No because that’s a different category. You can’t carry over that time to a different category.

Once your case became IR1 you were placed, for a lack of a better term, to the back of the line of the IR1 for Islamabad. And that line is that long that it takes 2 years to get an interview

They do not calculate the time, you no longer have to wait for the PD to be current and you are moved to regular processing.

You now get in line behind the other US citizens who have been waiting.

@powerpuff what is PD?

and also I found out that they sent the interview according to approval of DQ date from NVC, So my DQ date is aug-16-2023 so I think I have to wait as per the people already have the DQ date previously. In that case no matter if I am GC holder or Citizen.
