Visa Packet to enter the US?

Hi,

I have received my IR1 visa in my passport recently. I'm planning to enter the US soon with it. Problem is: I don't recall if they also gave me a Visa Packet or not together with my passport. I don't recall receiving a Visa Packet (i.e. the sealed enveloppe to show at the border that includes your medical and other stuff) and I can't find any Packet in my house, but at the same time it's possible that they did and I forgot about it. I'm trying hard to remember, but I'm just really confused (it doesn't help that I've been reading a ton of forum posts talking about this Visa Packet, so maybe I imagined it?). When I retrieved my passport I was so excited that it distracted me...

I don't want to fly to the US and then be rejected at the border because I forgot my Packet. How do I get certainty that I did or did not receive a Visa Packet? Who can I call/contact you think?

FYI in my visa it says "212(g)(2)(B)" and "IV DOCS IN CCD", but according to the paper instructions I received with the passport, that means I MAY have not received a Packet, not that it's SURE I have not received a packet...

Thanks!

You are good to enter US with your passport and visa (both unexpired of course).  It is electronic now for IR packet.   "IV DOCS IN CCD" .  Have a safe flight!

The medical center just told me they had sent a physical copy of my medical results to the embassy. I've reached out to the embassy to ask if they gave me a packet, but no answer yet. Any idea how to get complete certainty? I appreciate that the mention written on my visa is encouraging, but I'm not sure if that gives certainty?

Not sure why you think you need your medical results?? Those are only sent to the consulate, and you wouldn't have your visa if that hadn't been done. You have your visa, and it's clear from what's written on it that you don't need to carry anything with you. It's all electronic these days for spousal applicants, anything you've read referring to a packet being carried is either very outdated or for another visa type.

IV DOCS IN CCD means all of your documents have already been transmitted electronically. CCD stands for Consular Consolidated Database.

I received an instruction sheet with my visa that says all I need is the visa/passport to cross the border. As appleblossom said, it states on the visa "IV DOCS IN CCD" so they have everything they need, already.

You need to pay the $220 fee for your green card to USCIS (you can do so online), ideally before you cross.

But that's it. There is no "packet" that I am aware of.
