Hi there!

Here is our timeline so far:

  • package was delivered on 11/17/23
  • Thanksgiving happened
  • received a confirmation text with my case number on 11/27/23

I already had a USCIS online account set up, however, nothing appears yet under "documents".

check was not cashed yet (weird???)

I am from seattle, Wa. Does anyone know which service center I get?

NOA1 wasn’t generated yet. It’s too early for it to appear on the account

It’s not based on your location. USCIS assigns it according to their internal system of workload distribution among the service centers.

Hi! NOA1 was not generated yet even considering the following status:

On November 25, 2023, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Numberxxxxxxx and sent you a receipt notice or acceptance notice. The notice describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Does your case number start with IOE?

Yes!

That’s good, you should see the notices in the account soon.

USCIS online updates can be very unreliable and also they don’t always reflect reality. My guess would be that they haven’t generated the notice and scanned it to the online account even though they say they sent it already. I would give it a few more days

Thanks, that was helpful. I feel more positive after your comments.

Hi there! We had an update today!

Here is our timeline so far:

  • package was delivered on 11/17/23 (USPS)
  • Thanksgiving happened
  • We received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, and sent you a receipt notice on 11/25/23
  • received a confirmation text with my case number on 11/27/23
  • check cashed on 11/27/23
  • Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS on 11/28/23
  • (NOA1) receipt notice with extension letter available online on 11/28/23 (but the notice date is 11/29/23)
  • biometrics reuse notice available online on 11/28/23 (but the notice date is 11/29/23)

Notices indicate we got Nebraska Service Center.

Nothing in the mail yet. I believe now it is going to be just a long wait.

Question: is NOA1 printed in a "special paper"/original paper? Can I travel internationally with a home-printed receipt that I got online along with the expired green card?

Yes, NOA1 aka extension letter is printed on green colored, watermarked paper.

You should only travel with original letter and expired GC. Many airlines won't board you with a self printed copy of NOA1. Some people got lucky, but I wouldn't count on it.

Timeline

Timeline so far:

11-17-2023 - Shipped via Fedex

11-20-2023 - Package Delivered at Phoenix lockbox

11-24-2023 - Text received confirming receipt of documents

11-27-2023 - Check Cashed

11-28-2023 - Notice uploaded to my online USCIS account confirming receipt and 48 month extension.

My case status still doesn't say that it is under active review and doesn't say anything about a biometrics waiver or an appointment date, is that a cause for concern?

No, I've monitored cases and seen this before. Your case may sit without updates for a year and then biometrics will get reused / you'll get called for an appointment. Or the case may get approved / denied / you'll get RFE without any other updates in between.
