N-400 Tax Requirements

I got my 10-year green card in April 2021. I want to file for N-400 in January 2024 using the 3-year rule (early filing). USCIS seems to require 3 years of Tax returns for application and since taxes don't get filed until April I currently have two years (2021 and 2022). Would that be a problem?

Yes, it will be a problem. You won't naturalize and you will get deported.

 

In all seriousness, no. All you need to do is to file your 2023 taxes when you're ready, and bring them for the interview. I was in your exact same situation and I am now a citizen. They didn't even request the taxes at the interview.

Yes, if you do not have 2020, you are fine as the tax material is not required for you to submit the N400, and you can add 2023 later in the process or at the interview.

You actually do need 2020

I was not in the US in 2020, I became a permanent resident in 2021. I do not need 2020.
