I have read the guides, looked at samples, read every RFE thread I could find. Spent a ton of time in research. Our problem is that Montreal is backed up :( so I dont want to chance having an RFE delay us further.

K1 Packet

  • copy of credit card statement showing the hotel and other foreign charges
  • Boarding Pass Copies (mary) one stamped/dated by customs

........... I know the different between primary and secondary evidence. Looking thru all of this it is obvious that we have met. What I am unsure of is if it proves with out a doubt we have met in the last 2 years. I really really wish we had a datestamped photo! I could show the properties of some of the digital photos, I dont think you can change any of those settings (it says the details of the photo, the camera, date, etc). We started our blog site only a year ago and the domain names entries start the same time.

I just don't know what will make them not question that we have met in the last 2 years.

Thanks for all the help!

Looks good to me, you will not get an RFE with that list of items, remember USCIS only needs photo copies of your evidence, don't send the originals.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Passport stamps and photos should be mostly enough as long as the coincide with the dates you claim to have spent together. I don't have any receipts of spending money there, only the passport stamps, photographs, and copies of the boarding passes. I am hoping no RFE.

Of course you want to send in the most complete package you can, but even at that, it doesn't mean you won't get an RFE. You can get one because USCIS loses something that you enclosed.

You've just gotta do your best and keep your fingers crossed!

Thanks!

I understand 100% that I could get a RFE anyways, I just want to make sure I am not missing something. Something that someone else might have done as well when they filed. :)

I submitted photos of when I went to Argentina in June 2006. That is winter there as opposed to summer here. I guess if I was in shorts and sunglasses on the beach it would arouse suspicion for example hehe.

The dates on the passport stamps and boarding passes are generally used as primary evidence of the timing.

It's a little late for this... but in Nik's town (or the whole country, I'm not sure) foreign visitors are required to register with the local police department if they stay more than 3 days (hotels take care of this; it's only for staying in a private residence). They need proof of identification and the address the foreigner will be staying at for the duration of their trip.

On the guides and in the RFE letters it states that letters from COs dictating where they are stationed count as primary evidence. I wasn't sure, but I thought a form from the police department in Macedonia stating I was residing at Nik's house from DD/MM/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY would be considered primary evidence as well.

OP, like you, I've been reading the guides over and over and over again (as well as USCIS.gov, state.gov, even the actual laws!)... somewhat obsessive about avoiding an RFE because of lack of evidence of meeting. (I mean, the process is long enough without prolonging it myself. :P)

Good Luck on your journey! Your list looks good! Even though I'm no expert... just my opinion from what I've read. :)

Yes a letter from the police department indicating you registered your stay at a fiance's address would be primary evidence. Actually, I can't think of any better primary evidence but most people can't get that.

One suggestion: duplicate the copied pages of your passport which have the admission stamps to Canada and include this with your proof. Further, notate in writing the admission dates in/out of Canada: February 1, 2007; February 15, 2007; May 30, 2007, etc. This is considered primary evidence and you'll be well served to include it twice.

Good for you for looking ahead and taking steps to prevent an RFE. Much good luck to you both!

Thank you everyone - I re-wrote some stuff and narrowed down my evidence to really focus on the 5 trips that have entry stamps and one trip in particular with a lot of receipts ;)

I just spent $33 at kinkos and it's time to assemble my 2 binders (one for me and one for Mary)

Thanks again - I honestly could not have done it alone :)

Check written, added calling card logs, made a real nice shipping label that has "I-129F" and "ORIGINAL SUBMISSION" in red. Triple checked everything again.

...........it wont all fit in a priority envelope. *sigh*

I don't want to ship it with out paperclips so I'll have to find a thicker cardboard mailer for my petition.
