I sent ISL embassy a follow up email on Oct 25 regarding my father’s expedited case (approved on Oct 12,2023), requested them to expedite his interview, they reviewed the case (as it showed today’s date (Oct 27) as last update on ceac status & status still shows “Ready” since the expedited request got approved) and answered my email today that “they have received the case & its already in the process of expedited appointment and they have received other expedited cases and are scheduling them in the order they were received”

My question is , will my inquiry/request have bad/negative impact on my father’s case resulting in any further delay in getting his appointment or any AP? Or he will get his interview date as per current standard expedited interview processing time? When I can expect his interview? Please assist! Thank you!

Your inquiry won't create any issues, nor will it prevent any AP.  It seems you just have to wait for the consulate.  Good luck.

Thank you! I was freaking out thinking as they reviewed my case & it didn’t go urgent as per their criteria and that I missed my queue :( Will they delay in scheduling my father’s interview appointment?

Nobody here knows the inner working of the Consulate.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I do not see how that is connected. Or an issue, you have done better than most.

For Islambad he will go thru AP after and it can be extensive as record keeping in Pakistan is poor especially on the older citizens

That’s not true! So many cases went through successfully & ended up getting visa lately. I was just wondering on their response to my email that if they reviewed my father’s case that was approved by them, why they didn’t consider it for expedited interview? That’s all I’m curious about

Everybody does go through AP, it's just a final check before the visa is issued, but it can be very brief or very long depending on various factors. My status was AP for only few hours before it changed to 'issued'.

Was your case expedited? If not then AP can be for everyone not particularly for the approved expedited cases based on medical reasons that’s all currently I have been hearing about. My question was about their response to my expedited interview request, if anyone experienced the similar situation, all I wanted to know if my this request can cause my father putting on AP or any further delay in getting his interview date, if anyone experienced

Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a consular officer. Applicants are advised of this requirement when they apply. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Once the administrative processing has been completed, we will contact you immediately to let you know and will ask you to return your passport if we have not retained it. Once we have printed your visa, we will return your passport along with the visa packet via our approved courier service (American Express).  If it has been more than 6 months since your interview, please e-mail us through our web-based e-mail submission form with your interview date and case number.
