Hello everyone,I did affadavit of support (i864) for my wife case at NVC (submitted 2020 IRS trasncripts) and it was approved. However now i have a child so my income is not enough for both of them. So i will need a joint sponsor, my sister will help me in this and her income is good so no issue. But the question is since my sister (joint sponsor) is married and filed jointly with her husband i have heard that her husband needs to fill out i864A, can you guys confirm this if my sisters husband needs to fill out form i864A or any other document. Please share your experience if you had same issue as me, thank you. Please let me know if im missing or got anything wrong here thanks and yes i know i will still need to fill out form i864 also.My wifes interview schudled so were just getting ready. US embassy in Islamabad Pakistan. @pushbrk your help is greatly appreciated, thank you Sir.

I've answered this question countless times.  It is best practice for the spouse of a joint sponsor, to provide an I-864a no matter what the rest of the circumstances may be.

I agree with @pushbrk.  Have the spouse fill out the I864A as it is better to have it in case the CO asks for it.

Sorry Sir i have another question my joint sponsor (my sister) for i864, she is married and filed jointly and her husband is the main taxpayer, So my question is would my sisters huband or my sister be my joint sponsor for the i864? My sister has way higher income than her husband, so who should fill out the i864 than? And also would it be better to submit both IRS tax transcripts and tax returns?  Thank you Sir, if anyone else wants to help that would be greatly appreciated.

No clear guidance on this, but it makes sense to me to have the one with the higher W2 income be the joint sponsor.
