Hi everybody the other day My husband call to Louisiana DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES, so they contact him with the regional manager and he explain her that we went to the driver license place at Oakdale, Louisiana 4 times and all the times they say they cant give me a driver license bc my visa have less than 180 days to expire, so this lady said thats not right bc once we are marry we just have to go there with our I797 (notice of action), marriage certificate, passport, and social securty, and they have to tst me for the driver license, this really nice lady call to the driver license place at Oakdale , Louisiana and told them that we are going for the driver license, so we went and than they say I need to take de 6 hrs. driving classes but my husband call to the regional manager again and ask her if I need it bc we read at the website just people under 17 have to take it, or pleople than dont have a driver license from a foreing country so she said we are right and she call again to Oakdale and told them why tehy say that so we went the next day and I took my write and driving test and I pass it!!!, so now I have my driver license!!!! justa want to share this experience with everybody, bc maybe at other states is the same, good luck for everybody!!!!

nice! i tried to teach them that at my local dmv, but it didn't work. i didn't bother further with it as i had my license from home.

glad i waited too as my tester was less than 2 weeks from retirement so she wasn't failing anyone on the driving test part so me rolling through all my stop signs wasn't a problem. :lol:

Awesome!! I just phoned the DMV yesterday to find out what I need to do to get my Louisiana drivers license.

I'm a little nervous about taking the exam. I'll have to pick up a book from the DMV and study. I never thought I would ever have to do all this again :)
