canada is cool...

...you mean cold. :hehe:

Doesn't seem cold in Calgary, it's 30 degrees right now (85 F)

I was in Calgary last December. It was 20 below freezing, and was told that was nothing

ummm, yes some places in Canada like in the US get very cold... :P

but we do have very warm summers too....

and where I lived in BC, (a few miles from the US border), we maybe got snow a few days a year and then it would melt within a day or two....

Don't let the door hit them on the way out :P

That's what I say! The people interviewed for the story sound like a bunch of whiney, sniveling, cry babies that run from what they perceive as Bush driven adversity instead of working for change. America don't need 'em. Good riddance.

Yep. I've been there, too; my sister-in-law and her family live in Vancouver. So far, though, I've only seen it when it was gray and drizzly....

Ok, really we can't pretend any longer - it is cold here.

We have 4 seasons and 3 of them would be called winter in a lot of other places in the world. When it is winter it is REALLY winter.

It's funny though, on the news last night they were showing some car thing (can you tell I don't follow racing??) being held in Quebec. They interviewed a man from SC. He was looking surprised and said - I always thought it was cold in Canada but you are having weather here just like we have back home!

You do realize that even if a citizen lives in Canada, they can still vote?

What's your point? I could care less whether they vote, don't vote, renounce their citizenship, file for political asylum, etc., etc. I won't lose any sleep over it.

I was just observing that the story made it sound like they were fleeing awful persecution and depravation. What a bunch of woosies. Pretty lame.

I'm certainly not emigrating to Canada because of the reasons you or anyone else listed, Peejay...I'm going to emigrate solely for family. I have none here...my husband's family are all in Nova Scotia. I'm not whining about anything political or otherwise...I just want to be around family.

 Cracks me up every time I see your comment.

Now with them gone we can start focusing on building and returning this country to its pre 60's former glory; Rather than wasting any more time on ####### like marriage rights for lesbian poodles or whether the authorities should be monitoring someones calls, in order to prevent terrorism.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

When people want to come to the U.S. from Mexico, it's because they love America so much. When people want to leave the U.S. for Canada, it's because they're looking for a handout. What a narcistic view of America.
