I've tried calling the 800 number, and when it tells me to punch in my receipt number, I keep getting a message saying " You have not entered the correct number of digits"...I know this sounds stupid and like I'm a total idiot...but I've tried it 10 or more times....I know for sure that I entered the correct amount of numbers and the correct numbers...Anyone else have this problem?

Which number are we talking about? USCIS or NVC.

If NVC, skip the prompts for case number, and talk to an operator, the automated system has info for Immigrant visas like (CR-1/IR-1) only, not the K-Visas.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I'm trying to call the main USCIS number to get an update..I am not calling the NVC..I don't have a problem entering my numbers there. I don't know what the problem is. I've tried several different phones including my cell phone. It says enter the 10 digit receipt number, which I do and it tells me everytime "you have not entered the correct number of digits"..and of course I check what I dial..I enter the exact number of 10 digits every time.
