We already filed I-130 last June and we already receive the receipt number and the status is received and pending. Now, this August, we will be filing for the I-129F, how much we will send to USCIS for payment? We know they have changes in the amount starting July 30? If we will file this August the I-129F, is it free for us even if the time we filed in June, we only pay $180?

Thanks for the help.

As far as I'm aware, no one has been able to say for sure what will happen with this. The safest thing, in my opinion, is to send the I-129f with a check that makes up the difference between the old fee for the I-130 and the new one.

Neenuh tried this and the lack of informaion line first told her $455. Then proceeded to change the amount twice more. Good luck calling. I would suggest asking if the CSR could put you in contact with someone who can tell you for sure.

That sucks - especially the first one telling her way too much. Not terribly surprising though.

When you call that USCIS number, you will first talk to a customer service rep. Like most first line customer service, they are sadly clueless.

However, once you let them spout their ignorance, you can ask to speak to an officer. You may have to insist or even call back to get a more cooperative customer service rep, but they should let you talk to an officer. They are a lot more knowledgeable and can probably help you better.

we'd like to mail our K3 already

but we're still "trying" to find out if we're paying $170 or no fee at all

also waiting for someone in VJ to post their experience, heh

as for that so called USCIS officer...

this "supervisor" initially told my husband to pay $455 (as mentioned by edp333)

and then they said no more fee, as stated in the revised form

even though that info came from a supervisor, it doesn't feel correct to send without any fee

but who knows

so much for asking for someone who can tell us for sure what to do

i don't know if i want to cry or laugh at this whole thing

i do know USCIS customer service is inefficient

About this, my husband already called USCIS and she talked to a lady but the lady says, it will be free because we have an I-130 pending. We are thinking if that lady he talked is knowledgeable enough? And she is giving us a correct answer?
