what airline are you flying from JFK to DFW Dallas? You should be arriving at Terminal 1, see the list below, Lufthansa gate will be there. From there after you clear custom you can rechecked your luggage and see the list below what terminal you have to go to. There's a Tram a JFK that goes around all the terminal, you can take one from terminal 1 to your connecting flight.

Complete list of airline terminals at JFK

Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic, and more - Terminal 1

Delta - Terminals 2 and 3

Continental Airlines - Terminal 4

JetBlue Airways - Terminal 6

British Airways - Terminal 7

United Airlines - Terminal 7

American Airlines - international flights - Terminal 8

American Airlines - domestic flights - Terminal 9

thanks fopr the response , anyway i booked my ticket at 2045 hrs through jetblue airways form JFK to AUSTIN .

This is the only option i have to fly close to DFW . All other DFW flights are concentrated around 6:55 pm and from EWR or LGA airport , and i think its very risky transferring from jfk to any airport .

4 factors i was considering is :

*Lufthansa delay from Frankfurt

*Immigration check ( never know 15 min to 4hrs)

*airport transfer (JFK TO EWR 75 min to 90 min , and that too weekdays , traffic factor; JFK to LGA can take 35 min to 60 min)

*check in time for domestic airlines atleast 50 minutes before departure

i'm arriving by Lufthansa form Frankfurt @ 1610 hrs ( if evrything is on time)

any suggestions welcome

You are arriving at 4:16pm Eastern time, so what time is your flight to DFW schedule? You'll be going from Luthansa to Jetblue terminal 6. They are always doing some kinda of work, every time i go it's it's always something different, lot of money being waste in construction. With a couple of hours for Delay and immigration you should be fine.

Definitely against going to Newark, expensive but mostly traffic nightmare. From JFK to Laguardia is not an easy one also, Van wyck Expressway, 295, LIE 495, and then Grand Central Highway is madness at rush hour, so your best best to connect at JFK itself, if you were arriving past 9pm that would be a different story.

Wishing you the best of luck and have a safe flight.
