I-751 Affidavit Letters of Support

Hi! Since I couldn’t find anything on this, I am creating a new thread. My parents are US citizens with limited English proficiency, and they wanted to write us an affidavit letter of support. Would it be better if they wrote it in their native language and then have it translated? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with affidavits.  Personal affidavits are of very limited value.  A bona fide marriage of 2 years should have much, much stronger evidence.   Evidence showing financial mingling, sharing life together, and living at the same address together over the past 2 years is much more important than personal affidavits.

I was advised earlier not to worry about those as they do not hold a lot of weight comparing to other types of evidence that you mentioned, but it wouldn’t hurt to include a few. We live in the same house as my parents, so a letter from them might be helpful as they get to see us pretty much every day. I am just not sure how to handle the language barrier situation.

The instructions do say to include affidavits, so, I would write them in English and have the parents sign them, and wouldn't bother with the translation.
