I did think 7th October killed the Debate in the US. Why do you need an AR 15 (Not saying that is the most appropriate), gets out video clips of what happened in Israel.

Especially insane to me, even if you don't believe everyone should be able to own a gun, that even those kibbutz's literally a couple miles from the border only had a team of a few armed people ready to defend it. Seems to me like it's a no Brainer that anyone this close to the border who doesn't have a criminal record should be able to get one. 

 

However better late than never, things are changing there, slowly. It's still not like in the US of course, but my understanding is now anyone with combat training (from their time in the military) will be able to own a weapon even in their civil life. People were literally left defenseless for hours while counting on police or the military, when their neighbors are a literal combination of isis and nazis, mind blowing to me.
