What a chance of luck that that school bus full of children just missed going down with the bridge!!! I saw that some of the children have blood on their faces though. This is so horrific.

Yeah; there's no way everybody's gonna be alright, no Pollyanna ending here. CNN is saying 50-100 cars were on the bridge at the time it collapsed. Count a lot more deaths than the three already confirmed.

200,000 cars travel across the bridge each day. Another thankfully, this didn't happen 15 minutes earlier, otherwise there would have been a ton more cars involved.

This happened right outside the office building of our parent company where my old boss works. My current boss is travelling there right now for a conference at that office tomorrow - due to land in an hour. He is going to have a dreadful time when he arrives.

According to CNN the school bus did NOT go into the river but just missed going in. I've seen footage of a yellow school bus not in the water but on a collapsed section of the bridge.

I have to say it certainly seems as though the emergency crews are WELL prepared for this type of emergency! They seem very organized and ready for all of the casualties.

Its an old bridge, and work was being done to resurface it. I guess it had some other issues that were missed or not noticed.

But anyway, There were fire rescue, ambulances and police from pretty much every city, county and hospital in the Minneapolis/St.paul area. The park on the river near the bridge has a couple of thousand people watching the scene. Cant get close, all the streets, walkways and everything else within a quarter mile is closed off. A bunch of helicopters from news, military and hospitals where in the air around the bridge.

(I doubt it's Al Qaeda, if only because there was no explosion, the bridge has been under construction, and who the ###### in al-Qaeda is going to go after Minneapolis?)

Not saying this IS terrorism but it's not really that far fetched to think they'd hit a major bridge in a major city. It's something I fear every day on my way to work.
