Since that time, countless illegal acts have taken place as activists, many originating on college campuses, have trespassed, harassed, and destroyed property in their quest to support a terrorist group.  Antisemitism has reached levels not seen since World War II, and those in power have coddled those espousing it.  That includes the Biden administration.  Meanwhile, normal people have been sitting around in disbelief, waiting for someone to enforce the rules against these entitled brats.  Finally, on a sunny Friday in California, someone did.

 

That someone is Pomona College President Gabrielle Starr.  After a group of pro-Hamas protesters trespassed into an administrative building, she showed up, and she wasn't there to hand out cookies.  Instead, she gave them an ultimatum.  More importantly, she followed through on it.  [...]

Harvard Hires 24/7 Security to Protect 'Anti-Israel' Wall

 

Harvard University employed around-the-clock security guards to monitor and protect an anti-Israel wall created by pro-Palestine students.

Seems appropriate here.  Of course Lisa Cook has done many of the same things as say Claudine Gay, or Joe Biden, but of course the University she was working at during that period looked the other way while telling students plagiarism is bad.  Now, she is a Federal Reserve Governor, DIE run amok?

 

Trouble at the Fed

 

Does the deliberate recycling of old material, including material from coauthors, constitute academic misconduct? It is true that journalists, for example, often adapt previous reporting into a compilation or a book. But the standard in academia is more rigorous. According to the Michigan State University guidebook, republishing identical material across multiple journals, without proper attribution, appears to be a violation of the rule against “self-plagiarism.” The standard is that scholars cannot use copied language “regardless of whether [they] are or are not the author of the source of the copied text or idea.”

 

What should the consequences be for this kind of academic misconduct? At Michigan State, administrators have warned students that “plagiarism is considered fraud and has potentially harsh consequences including loss of job, loss of reputation, and the assignation of reduced or failing grade in a course.” Certainly, for an esteemed professor and now a governor of the Federal Reserve, that standard should be the bare minimum.

USC's valedictorian, Asna Tabassum, a Muslim, was selected as this year's valedictorian but questions began to arise over her suitability when she publicly raised questions about the Israel-Hamas war.  The links she posted on social media allegedly promoted antisemitism.

Columbia University is facing a full-blown crisis heading into Passover as a rabbi linked to the Ivy League school urged Jewish students to stay home and tense confrontations on campus sparked condemnation from the White House and New York officials.

It's a name on a sheepskin, that's all.  Complete waste, unless employers like fancy "wrapping paper."

 

If I were president, I'd find a way to cancel all Federal grants to most of these places, plus Federal student loans.  Let these arrogant hellholes fund scholarships with use of their billion-dollar endowments.

A howl of rage against civilisation

 

Hands down the worst take on the 'Gaza Solidarity Encampment' that has taken over Columbia University in New York City for the past week is that students have always done things like this.  Students have forever occupied buildings and quads to make a political point.  Students have long agitated against war.  Students often find themselves in the grip of passionate radical intensity.  Look at the Vietnam era, says every columnist in Christendom, as if the Gaza camp were just another explosion of youthful anti-imperialism.

 

The wilful naivety of this take is unforgivable at this point.  To liken Columbia's strange, seething 'pro-Palestine' camp to earlier campus uprisings against militarism is to gloss over what is new here.  It is to whitewash the profoundly unsettling nature of this rage of the privileged against the world's only Jewish nation.  Until someone can point me to instances of those Sixties anti-war kids hurling racist invective at minority groups and demanding the wholesale destruction of a small state overseas, [...]

Now It's UCLA Med School That Has a Plagiarism Scandal

 

DEI = Didn't Earn It.  Whoever came up with that deserves to be memorialized in the Oxford English Dictionary.

 

The past few months have made to clear to all who can admit it that DEI is just a new term for racial discrimination and that this racial discrimination requires hiring the incompetent in order to fill ideologically motivated quotas.

 

The latest example of this is the case of UCLA Medical School's DEI director, who is tasked with teaching its medical students to "do what's right."
