K1 VACCINATIONS AND ENTERING COUNTRY

Call the clinic and ask if it is ok if you get the vaccines started and fax them proof to update your medical. You might get lucky and they haven't mailed it off yet.

The first two doses of Hep B need to be given 30 days apart, the 3rd dose is 6 months from the second dose. If you can fax all the vaccines proof that your GP gave,  you might be able to have them mark off that it is completed. Without having to start over from square 1 in the US, as finding a doctor to just update and fill in the vaccine worksheet seems to be hard to find.

It cannot be any doctor and the ones who you get to pick from do not just want to fill out a form. They make you redo the medical and this is not cheap.

I think it will be too late to update my medical as i have already sent it out, there are a lot of clinical surgeons near by i think it will be okay.

I don’t think you understand this process.

They have already sent out my medical to the embassy, I'm going to get the 3 vaccines before i go to the US once in the US i will give them my updated vaccination record and ask them to fill out the i693 for the AOS. Is that not what i do. There are over 30 civil surgeons offices near me in the US im sure i can find somebody who will sign the document for me after showing them.

Did you provide proof of any vaccinations?  Did you receive a DS 3025?

I don't think you understand that a k1 doesn't have a vaccination requirement.  The vaccintion requirement comes during AOS.  OP is good to go for the k1 but needs it for AOS

LOL, I did a K1.  I understand the process.

It was not clear in this thread that the OP realized the difference between civil surgeons and his GP when it comes to United States immigration.

Sure, he can wait and do it stateside for AOS, at a premium price.

@Boiler is this true about the one dose is good enough as long as i have started them? for hep b?

Yes, that's true - myself and my family had just the one dose in London and our medicals were signed off (immigrant visas though). We had it done by Visa Medicals, just for ease. I don't think your GP will do a Hep B vaccination, we had our second doses done before we left for the US but had to have them done at a private clinic.

OP: If you get vaccines done by your GP before you have the interview, please make sure that you bring proof of doing so with you to the US. If there are more vaccines in your series to get, ensure you have proof of that too.

If you wait to receive vaccines in the US, you will need proof as well. You will need to go to a US Civil Surgeon (not just any doctor) that is willing (and not all are willing) do certify the vaccine portion of the form. All in all, it is prudent, less costly, and less of a hassle to have all vaccines before your medical, during medical, or before interview. If not, that's certainly fine - BUT you will need to be on top of this before your AOS, and it certainly will be very costly in the US.
