HELLO EVERYONE,

I got an email from NVC saying:

that "The NVC is waiting for form I-864 (Affidavit of Support) to be

completed by the petitioner..." we have been wiating for the packet esp the barcode cover sheet to be arrived and then send back the whole package, yet until now we got nothing but my wife got the IV BILL to pay that 380 dollars . is this normal ? I thought the IV bill payment is after one sends the package of i-864 with documents.

i need your clarification here please .....MANY THANKS

Here is how the NVC works:

DS-3032 generates IV Bill which generates the DS-230

AOS Bill generates I-864

The I-864 has nothing to do with the I-864. Have your wife call the NVC to find out if they have mailed the I-864 already and if so, when.

Diana is correct about the flow of the documents above. I received the same email you did, I don't think it's standard but I think that is what they will reply in some cases IF you emailed them the Choice of Agent more than once. IE: It's basically a reply you might get if they have already updated your choice of agent - a confirmation that they got your 2nd email as it were.

I hadn't received my I-864 when I received that email either, I did receive it in the mail today. (In other words - don't worry about it) :)

I believe you are talking about this:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

A packet containing the Immigrant Visa Processing Fee Bill has been sent to

the designated agent or attorney of record. The payment due amount listed on

the fee bill must be paid according to the instructions before the DS-230

will be accepted.

The NVC is waiting for form I-864 (Affidavit of Support) to be completed by

the petitioner. The petitioner must complete a Form I-864, regardless of the

petitioner's income level. Please have the petitioner complete this form and

return it according to the instructions so that we may continue processing

this file.

Please visit http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html to

download a copy of the I-864 and/or the instructions. If you do not have

access to the internet, you may wish to visit your local library or an

internet café.

Regards,

National Visa Center
