Okay, hubby has his EAD, he received a letter today from the SSA he will be getting his SSN in 2 weeks, he wants to know if it is all right to start looking for jobs, and applying or should he just wait 2 weeks? If he is hired before he gets his SSN will this cause a problem?

129-F Filed - Oct. 27, 2006

I-130/129F Approved - Jan. 10, 2007

K3/K4 Visas Approved - May 4, 2007

10 Year Green Cards Received!!!! - October 12, 2007

Done until naturalization!

As long as he has his EAD, he can accept a job if offered to him. He will simply have to tell his employer that he will give them his SSN when it arrives. He could show his employer the letter from the SSA to show that it has indeed been applied for, and is on it's way to him.

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

Leney, am sure he can start looking for jobs now that he has his EAD, not sure what will happen about the....not having his SSN yet tho....but i'm sure someone will let you know otherwise.

Its fine to start work if you have applied for a SSN but haven't got one yet. People where I work do this all the time (we have a lot of people who come to work here from abroad, and they generally start work the day they arrive, even before they have applied for SSN). There is no requirement on the I-9 to present a SS card.
