if you have the case number, it is easier to look it up on line but for your peace of mind and if you have more questions, it is good to call, the waiting time for the operator is not as bad as it used to be, approx 2-5mins everytime i call and most of them are warm and accomodating.

Thing is I don't really have any question but one - when will this get done! Can operators tell me more than "It's pending at our California Service Center"? :)

Oh yea! A long time ago. I was just hoping to see if this is close to getting done. We am getting very tired of all this :(

G&A, where in Canada are/were you? I just found out that Montreal takes up to half a year and this drives me nuts! I was hoping for 1-2 months at most after USCIS approval. I am pondering transfer to Vancouver...

Does anyone know if you can transfer to Vancouver mid-process and if it is safe? Or should I just not meddle with USCIS and let it stay at Montreal?

Have you asked about the timeframe in the Canadian forum? My understanding is that it's the CR1/IR1 interviews that are taking a very long time in Montreal but that the K3 interview will come much faster. I may have misunderstood though.
