Personally, I would rather not make a martar outa someone for other to rally around... cause you know they will tout him as such after the fact, even though some sources claim that AQ thinks he's a total screw up to the cause.

Well, we've given Osama what he wanted (invade Iraq, more war and make more Muslim enemies). Why would we not grant this jerk his wish of becoming a martyr? That's what he wants and we'll make sure that he gets it.

I can't help the past, those stones already been tossed. But the future now... we can effect that. So why do we have to fulfill his wish list?

This is one I don't get entirely. As hard as it must be to make the decision to give anyone the death penalty, they had a very easy excuse not to.

Not sure this one is going to hold up though. He's getting the Death Penalty for not helping to stop it.

Because that's just the way it is going to be. If there was something I could do about it, I would. But America values revenge more than anything, I'm afraid. He'll be the martyr he wanted to be.

I agree, that's gotta be one of the silliest things I've heard in a long while...

Indeed. Apparently justice demands that someone be found. The fact that the people who were directly responsible for 9/11 are either dead or are in hiding, it seems the blame for the atrocity falls upon one person they can find, but who apparently had the least to do with it.

I guess they can get him as an accomplice, yet it seems typical of the US justice system - putting "someone" in the frame for the crime, as opposed to the "right" person.

Not that I'm defending this guy, clearly he has some very serious charges to answer for. Its just another sign of our times I guess...
