Hello, I need some help and advice, I was married for over 3 years, I applied for my legal status but unfortunately my marriage didn't work and before the second interview I got divorced, I cancelled the paperwork and after a year I got married again, I submited my application again but when my lawyer cancelled my first process, he failed to inform me about how long the cancellation process was going to take, I work for over 3 months without knowing that I was not allowed to work as I later learned when the lawyer gave me the letter he also received, since I moved from my first house, I never got the letter that states that my old papers were cancelled. Now getting ready to have my interview again I'm very nervous because I'm afraid they will know I was working without being allowed to work for about 3 months. Could this put me in trouble? can they deny my papers for this reason. I actually been working with the new papers I got ( for about 6 months now ). I have a clean record and my own business now, what can happen, what can I do if they ask me why I kept working with the old papers? I need help, thank you.

Your situation is complex, you probably should talk to your attorney. I would be surprised if anyone here can help you unless they are an attorney specializing in immigation matters. Good luck

Are you currently married to a US citizen? I'd call an immigration attorney if you have any misgivings.

Its unlikely working without authorization is going to cause any issues for you. It may however cause issues for your employer if the government decides to pursue it. If you have your AOS pending and you have a current EAD, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
