Just took a look at my wife's cases in the App, amazingly it must have updated yesterday and they now show they received the RFE. It also indicates the AOS case has been restarted as far as processing and current step 3 shows 2 months remaining.  Now the EAD processing has gone to the status saying "taking longer than expected to process".

From reviewing those of you who have had the same thing pop up for the EAD, it never was processed and the GC was eventually issued several weeks later, or am I wrong?

Just trying to be positive in my thoughts.

Happy Holidays to you all.

Keep the positive thoughts ..... That is all we can do.

Well, that, and prepare to yell at USPS which seemed to have lost her GC on the way here tomorrow (if they don't have an actual update of status then) ... lol

It arrived (finally) ... and the SSN card adjustment is complete today.

Up next is DMV ....

Will be happy to share any experiences we have in converting over docs but so far things are going about as expected.
That is, with the exception of the Brazilian Consulate ... that is another matter entirely.

Will be here (like I was with I-129F group) to help where I can ... and looking forward to seeing most of you again in ~21 Months when we are filing our I-751s

Remember to collect things that prove the "marriage" is real to support that filing ... (yes, was stupid we had to prove we were engaged, then again at the interview, then again for the AOS but it is what it is).

We received our green card on the 22nd, exactly 8 days after our I-485 was approved. I will take a break from this forum and Facebook groups too and just enjoy my time with my spouse. So, see y’all in 21 months! And those who are still waiting: your time is coming soon!

Hope everything is going well with your applications!

May I ask if your RFE was complicated? We just saw an update in our case that a RFE was sent. I know we just have to be patient and wait for it to come in the mail. But having never done it, I’m just so paranoid and anxious.

RFE was for I-864.  They didn't pay any attention to my verification of income letter for my pension.  Said they needed more info, so they got 12 months of Pension Pay Stubs, an updated verification letter indicating the monthly amount, lifetime benefit. Also sent them 12 months of bank statements for all my checking and savings accounts as well as my Roth IRAs.  My retirement income is only partially taxed so the Total income box on the Tax transcripts does not tell the whole story.  I sent them the last 3 years 1099R's so they could see the income and sent a Letter of Explanation as far as my circumstances.  I make over 100k a year from my Pension and it's not an annuity like they probably thought and not only a once a year withdrawal. That's why I sent them everything but the kitchen sink.  All in all I sent over 400 pages.

I currently just picked up a job, so I sent them that verification of emoyment letter as well as listing my assets.

Now processing it, so we will see what occurs.

@ThailandR, hope you didn't send too much that results in them being "annoyed" ... not sure it happens but seems like you are trying to cover the bases well

I gave them everything needed to see my finances. Sucks but it lays out the whole picture.

You arrive, show your appointment letter and ID, go through security, wait till you are called up, have fingerprints and photo taken. Go home

Hi all,

hope you had a great time away for the holidays and congrats on all your approvals.

My case status on USCIS for my i-485 has been going on a spiral for the past week or so...

Constantly changing from '5 months' to '4 weeks' has anyone else had this happen to them before ?

I have read on this forum that this means its a sign it will be approved soon... Honestly hope it is but at the same time jus very unsure cause its so strange.

Any help on what it might mean would be appreciated, i just hope its not false hope.

Hey everyone, happy new year.

Logged into the USCIS account and saw under the uploaded documents that the combo card, EAD + I-512 endorsement (AP) has been approved and the card will be sent in the next week or so. Oddly enough the main page still says 2 months so check the uploaded documents section for updates. 485 still says 4 months.

Don't use myProgress for any "Hope" or it is "False Hope" ... sorry to say.

We received the physical GC on 12/26/2023 and the status online says that it has been picked up by the post office ... not even delivered.
Our EAD and AP shows in progress (in text when searching for case number) and case closed on USCIS account.

Unfortunately, the "Status" is very poor ....
Seems that the best way to know that things are done (or needing more work) is to review the "Documents" tab under each case number.
We got the "Approval letter" for GC well before the others this way.
Not that you can do much about anything with USCIS process.

On a side note, currently fighting with Credit Reporting Agencies to get her identified.
Seems that something isn't quite right with the records there and they are (often) asking for a Drivers License.
It blows my mind that a GC isn't accepted as a form of ID.

I agree, the my progress tab now shows 5 months for the GC and the EAD says taking lo ger than expected, the AP says 5 months.  No new documents produced on any of the 3......

Happy for all of those who have succeeded. My wife is worried that we will have to sell up here in the US and move back overseas to SE Asia.  No way will she go back to Myanmar as it's in a civil war.
