My wife applied for her CA. ID card. It never arrived and after a call to DMV we were told it was because her I-94 was expiring and the other NOA documents would not suffice.  Was told she needed her EAD card....insanity.  tried to add her to the Bank accounts and was told the same thing, didn't matter that she was on the household bills and had a SSN.

Sorry to hear that :(

I also renewed my CA DL and upgraded to real ID on 2023-11-17 (using EAD card and I-765 online approval notice, I-94 expired as well), they told me I will receive it in mail within 3-4 weeks, so far 3 weeks almost past and still nothing...maybe I should also give them a call to ask for the status. Hope everything is fine.

Below is a helpful and informative post I found online regarding case transfer from NBC to FO (and eventually FO to NBC...)

================================================================
You will never get a transfer notice from NBC to a field office because it's not a physical transfer unlike when a case moves from one service center to another. There are 6 service centers ( Texas, Nebraska, California, Vermont, Potomac and Missouri that is NBC) . Under NBC, there are 89 field offices. When case goes to FO from NBC, it's an electronic transfer unless it's going to local FO for interview. Any transfer between service centers is an actual physical transfer of case papers and hence you get notified and get a physical receipt. 'Case transfer' status means, service center which had your case till now confirming transfer. 'Case transferred and new office has adjudication' means new office had accepted the case adjudication. By the way, these statuses are just and electronic translations. Look at it as a bank transfer. First status is like you sent a check to a party through your bank, second status is their back acknowledging that they received the check. It take few days the party will receive the cash. Same here, after these two statuses show up, it takes 2 to 4 weeks your case is physically transfers and get routed in at NBC. Once it receives in NBC, it electronically gets transferred to a FO and that's when Emma agents will tell you what office it is. Until that happens, you will get random answers like, case is at NBC, case is still at TSC/NSC, case was never transferred or transferred back. Don't believe those answers. It will just raise your blood pressure. In my case, my case transfer status was happened on Feb 15th and 16th. Until 3/15 I was getting random answers. Finally on 3/19, agents started to tell me that my case was transferred to San Fernando Valley FO. So it took almost a month to transfer to NBC physically. Hope this helps..

Oh shoot… I just passed the knowledge test for the driving permit and they told me to change the name on my SSN card to my married name first before getting my permit issued. I’ll go to the SSA office tomorrow and see if they can update my name so that I can proceed with the driving permit. Not being able to drive is a big limitation in the Midwest🥲

SSA didn’t update my name in the SSN card, they told me to come back when I get my EAD/green card. Good news is I can still get my driving permit (though with my maiden name).

Just spoke to a Live agent using Ask Emma.  I asked about the cases disappearing from the USCIS case list in my wife's profile.  I advised them I had checked the USCIS My Progress tab last week and the cases were there but on Friday night they disappeared.  The agent said it is a known issue and they are working on-it.  Asking for a new online access code or trying to create a new account will not work.  The agent assured me the cases were still being processed and at this point if anything was needed they would send an email.  The agent apologized for the inability to follow the cases or add information using the update tab.

EAD arrived today.

Hopefully, everyone gets some updates soon.

@grumpypiggy is your i485 application still on step 3 (attend interview, if necessary)?

Congratulations.  I hope my wife's arrives soon since last week it said 1 week in the processing of it.  Waiting on one more piece of documentation from a new employer I started working for on December 1st (A verification of employment letter) so I can add it to the requested I-864 documents they sent the RFE for. I know its a new job but the income from it alone satisfies the 125% poverty level threshold.  So if they still have issues with my Pension, and the 12 months of bank statements and the 3 years of 1099R's I have for them, the additional kitchen sink info should pass the test....keeping my fingers crossed.  On another note, I added her to the house bills (Power &Water) and the bank accepted that in order to add her to the accounts.  She was happy because her debit card will have the frozen characters on it...lol

Just don't believe USCIS time estimates that's for sure.

They are incapable of doing there jobs but very capable of taking our money and putting our lives on pause.

Hope you get something soon.

Okay, with the new cases reappearing in the USCIS Profile, I have just completed a Cover letter indicating that Section 8 Public charge questions 61-68 have been corrected.  I had the wife initial each change on the pages and included them in the scan that I am submitting through the on-line system.  Need to mail out the RFE paperwork for the I-864, its 150 pages in total......sad, but I took the kitchen sink approach.  Looks like our package was sent to Lee's Summit, MO.  Why it was not sent to the California Service center is anyone's guess.

I think that depends on the office. After my husband did biometrics on 11/27, it said an estimate of 2 weeks for EAD Decision. His EAD card arrived in the mail this evening.

Congratulations to your husband.

Hopefully we all get something before the new years...
