Can K2 go to the US after K1 by herself? [merged threads]

My daughter and I are applying for K1/K2 and should get the visas soon. I have two questions. First, will her current F1 visa be canceled after getting K2? She is 19 years old and studying in the US now. Second, can she go to the US with K2 alone after I go in first? Can we get separate packages for entry to the US customs? Thanks!

Yes and yes.

K2 doesn't have a petition package to carry back

Sorry, I am still confused. Will her current F1 be canceled after getting K2? Is it possible to Let her return to study in the US with F1 first, even after getting K2, and return to China in March 2024, and we go together to the US with K1/K2 then? I am tied up with work on my side.

It may or may not, certainly possible.

She cannot enter on a k2 if you have not entered the US

Yeah. I understand. I want her to return to the US with her current F1 student visa if it is valid after getting K2.

My daughter and I will apply for K1/K2 at the consulate soon. Can she continue her US college after returning with K2? She is in F1 status now. Will her F1 be canceled by the consulate or by the college? Thanks.

As mentioned above the F1 will be canceled when she gets the K2. She can still go to college with her K2.

The K1, K2, and F1 visas do not affect each other.

You will need to apply for her GREEN CARD separately.

I think THAT is what you are REALLY asking about.

My wife's son did a K2 follow-to-join TWO YEARS after her K1. He entered the US carrying his separate medical package in one hand, and ALL his luggage in the other.

But he never got a green card. It is not a problem.

Did you ever file for adjustment of status for the K2 so a greencard can be issued?
