No touches, no receipts, no nothing.

My wife and send out our AOS/EAD/AP package along with my I-130 on May 1st. Due to our names not originally being on the mailbox all of our initial receipts were returned to USCIS. In spite of attempts to find out if anything else had been sent to our address (after we put our names on the mailbox), we have no idea if any other documents were sent by or returned to USCIS.

After sixty days we made an Infopass appointment and from there were able to set up a Biometric appointment for EAD and AOS. That was on 7/19. On 7/27 I received a letter saying that they tried to send a request for additional information (RFE?), but that that was returned as well. The letter stated that they would be sending another document to follow up on this but that my case may be suspended.

It has been 90 days since we filed, the website has made no updates on any of our cases, we have not received any documents accept for a duplicate receipt notice for the EAD.

Any ideas what might be happening with our case? No touches, no receipts, no nothing. All that the 800 number Cust Service can tell us is that something was returned to them, not that our case is pending or that they have requested any additional information.

There seems to be conflicting information about whether or not AP and other forms are connected. Does anyone know why we wouldn't have received AP yet? What can we do about this?

Are you signed up for online updates? if not I would recommend this.

Get to know your mail carrier or talk to the supervisor for the area. or, you could place a hold on all of your mail and they will keep it at the office for you. They usually charge a fee for this, but it would be worth it to me if I had a problem.

They have to validate your AOS before they can send and interim benefits.

We have talked to our mail carrier and put our name on the mailbox, so I don't think that's a problem anymore, but what do you mean by validating the AOS?

In order for interim benefits to be issued, they must be based on a valid AOS application.

If there is an issue or an RFE has been issued on the I-485, this will put a hold on the issuance of any interim benefits.

Once the RFE has been returned, reviewed and accepted. Then they will process interim benefits. There is a note on the RFE (i know you did not get the RFE) that states that interim benefit processing has stopped until this is resolved.

Any suggestions as to how to find out if RFE has been issued? Can an InfoPass appoint tell us this?

My hubby had the same type of problem while he was filling for his N400. A nightmare....

You need to get and Infopass appt and talk to the supervisor directly at the immigration office in your area. Be persistant with them because some agent are useless.

He took my husband 6 months and 5( every 3 weeks he would go there) visits to tne immigration office in Baltimore- MD to get to the bottom of why we were not receiving any mail.

Good Luck

I know everyone here talks about the misinformation line, but when I called them they show that all of the applications are pending. Is this consistent with having an RFE issued?

No, all it means is that your cases haven't been approved yet.
