So I have noticed that some folks have gotten RFEs for their I-1864 (affidavid...cant remember if i got the numbers right)...and they are thinking that its because they didnt include their 2005 tax returns. uggggg i sent our papers in about 2 weeks ago with our 2005 W-2's but not our returns because we havent filed yet. So of corse I am now loosing sleep thinking that we are going to get the RFE too...I have my taxes done but our co-sponsor (i hate that we need one, but spending over 2 years working in morocco has left me in major money issues...oh gotta love esl jobs!)...

has anyone else not sent in the 2005 tax returns? it seems crazy to me for them to request them when the due date for Filing taxes hasnt even happened yet.

stressed out Sarah

I figured mine and Liz's posts might freak you out. Still can't say for sure that they need 2005. For all I know, they could have lost all my support documents and that's why I got the RFE.

I totally agree that it's unreasonable for them to want 2005...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Most likey you won't get a RFE for another few weeks or month or more, if you're going to get one. By that time, your co-sponsors will have finished their taxes or have risked the wrath of the IRS.

So, not too much to worry about :) Calming vibes headed your way :content:

I'm still waiting for our transcripts from the IRS. All I can think is that is what they wanted or else they lost the whole package I sent, because I sent everything else they could want. I didn't send the 2005 W2 but didn't think they'd take just that.

I'm planning to send the whole Affidavit of Support package again just in case they lost it.

I have spent the past 7 years handling our company's government contract payment process so I am quite well acquainted with how good government employees are at losing entire files.

If you sent your package in January I wouldn't worry too much. W2s weren't even due out until January 31st. I guess they used that date as the one to start demanding them.

This is out of control. I really honestly just WANT the freakin' RFE to arrive so I can deal with it instead of every day rushing to the mailbox to see if i got one!!!! I'm still praying I'll luck out of it, but I doubt it, with both honeyblonde and jenn getting them last week.

We got our tax transcripts Tuesday and now I'm trying to get a new Affidavit of Support package together to send them. I got a promotion since I sent the last one, and also I just realized that the one I sent has 2004 data on it, so I'm going to redo the whole thing. I hope to get it in the mail Saturday morning.

Did you send your 2005 W2? I didn't so maybe that's going to be enough to keep you from getting an RFE.

The thing is, we were SO GRATEFUL after 2 months of trying to get even the *2004* taxes from Majid's cousin that I didn't stress the 2005 stuff, since I figured it was February and they wouldn't be requiring it yet. We're thinking about starting the process of getting the 2005 taxes now ahead of time, but since it involves assaulting his cousin with multiple modalities, including phone calls (not returned), emails (not replied to), surprise visits to his house (a 1 hour drive and usually not there), and surprise visits to his work (always seems to be his day off) in attempts to get the information we need from him that we kind of just want to cross our fingers and hope we're okay.

Sigh. I'm just trying to remember how lucky we are to have any cosponsor at all.

We got our response package all ready tonight to send back out. My boss was very understanding about signing the employment verification letter for the third time. (once for the I134, then the first time here, then now). I redid the entire affidavit of support package because I realized it has the previous years data on it and they want this past years.

I hope they are happy with this package. Poor Abdel can't do too much more around this house before it is spotless and we're out of money to do any more renovation. He's already looking for a volunteer job and has been surfing ads for them. He found one at the library he was going to check into.
