I do not have my immunisation record from my previous country, what do i do now? Do i contact my GP to get blood test done for titres? Do i pay privately and get done? Has anyone been in this situation?

Most of my records were missing also.  If they can't be proven you have to get the vaccines again.  I got MMR and tetanus on the NHS, so I only had to pay for Hep B and a blood titer test for chickenpox on the day of the medical.  Might be worth going that route than paying for all the tests first.

I just called them and asked for a tetanus booster and explained I needed MMR for immigration purposes.  They didn't take any blood tests as it doesn't hurt to be vaccinated more than once I guess.  It's all Visa medical would do anyway, but charge you for the privilege!

i m only thinking of getting things ready for the NVC stage. I checked visa medical website, it says they are able to provide vaccines if you do not have record obviously costing hundreds!!! I got it now what you meant got two on NHS and rest you had to pay . So would it be wise waiting until the actual medical? Or what shud i do meanwhile in terms of medicals so that there’s no delay? I am still trying to understand the process and the last thing you want is waiting for something which could have been kept ready earlier! Hope you understand.

Yes, you can get all of this done before the medical with your GP and save the documentation for your immigration medical.

But why spend when it is included in the medical fee? at least in the Philippines, I am not so sure in other countries.

Vaccination cost is not included in the standard fee for visa medicals in the UK.  The visa medicals clinic in London has a separate price list for vaccinations, and it's possible to get the shots cheaper elsewhere.

Go ahead and start getting the vaccines you cannot evidence you have had.  You will need them anyway.  There really is little point in paying for titer tests.

In my experience, I got approved faster than anticipated, and I ended up having a load of vaccines over 3 days.  That knocked me out a bit! And for sure get what you can for free on the NHS, otherwise they're around 70 each.

Yeah, I was able to get a DPT booster through the NHS. That's the only one I needed, but I definitely recommend seeing what you can get on the NHS.

Aw! Thanks, Chancy, and yes if it is cheaper back home and yes get it. Varicella shot for example is $210.00 in the USA, if you do not have an insurance.

In Brazil,  my wife was missing childhood records,  she went to a local doctor who reconstructed what she would have had and wrote a note to that effect.   At the medical interview,  she was requested the 2nd shot of one of those childhood vaccines and directed us to a local place to get the shot, which we walked to got her the shot and paperwork (after paying for it). had lunch, and returned to the medical office to turn in the vaccine paperwork  and in return got the paperwork needed for the interview at the US Consulate in Rio.

I'm in the other camp. Do not get vaccines you do not need. Get the titers test and go from there.  Over vaccination is a real issue.
