Well, we pick up out visa on aug 8th, a whole week after our pink slip. that seems to be a long time. anyone know why?

here's some info from my perspective.

- only interviewee is allowed into the consulate. you have to wait outside across the street. sit down, have a drink, it's gonna be a long wait :) bring an umbrella or rain coat, cuz you never know when it's gonna rain.

- they start lining up and letting people in about half an hour beforehand. example, if your interview is at 8am, they start letting you in about 7:30. if you get blue slipped, they tell you to come back at 1pm, they'll let you in at 12:30.

- most of the time, you will enter from a side door on the left hand side of the main consulate entrance. from there they will let you back outside to go into the main entrance.

- there's two armed vietnamese guards with riffles. one stand rite in front of the main entrance, one stands down the street. their primary weapon, however, are their whistles :)

- if you get hungry while waiting for you spouse to come out, there's a pho place down the street right in from of the main entrance. if you gotta piss, there's a shopping complex across the street of the pho place. go upstairs and bust a left. it cost 1000 vnd. dam, just to take a leak.

well, it was bad, but now it's good. going to mui ne for a few days tomorrow for some de-stressing. my offer is still on the table, anyboy who wants to bust some tigers with me, holla!

In Houston, Tigers are sold everywhere now so and they are favorite beer so, my friend, I will bust a few cold ones with you. I wish I could join in Vietnam now but the ever unforgiving heat of Houston does make me feel like I am in the middle of Saigon. Again, job well done and congratulations.

I used to be indecisive. Now I am just not sure ...

Tigers is not that great.. In Vietnam you have to drink Saigon Do (Saigon Red Beers) not the Tigers ;) Anyway, congrats on your Visa Journey.
