Error on Marriage Certificate

I was compiling back up for our I-130 and noticed a typo on our marriage certificate where the state I was born in is incorrect. It states Dallas, Colorado, USA, instead of Dallas, Texas, USA. I plan to request a revised certificate, but I expect the process will take a while. Does anyone know if this would potentially be an issue?

Yes it'll be an issue. Fix it immediately before sending anything to USCIS

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

If u were married in Texas,  how did the county or state error by putting Colorado

We were married in Canada. In regards to your question, I’m not sure how they got my birth state mixed up as I provided a birth certificate with the marriage application.

Did you look at it when you received it?  Also, are you able to go back to Canada to fix it?  It should be fixed prior to filing.

My take is that this might cause an RFE and it might not.  RFEs delay cases a month or so.  If it will take longer than that to get it corrected, I would go ahead and file, and have the corrected one ready when needed.  Tell the truth on the forms.
