We submitted I-130 on Oct. 23rd 2023 and got approved on Feb. 26th 2025, so it took almost exactly 16 months.

We haven't heard anything from USCIS until 3 days before the approval.

Prior to the approval, they sent me two emails with the exact same message: 'We have taken an action on your case. Sign in to your account to review your case status.' However, nothing had changed in my account. Finally, upon receiving the exact same message for the third time, we got our case approved!!

Is there someone in this thread got approved for I-130 and filed for K-3.

I am trying to figure out if a K-3 have an impact on I-130.

I understand that k-3 deadline is shorter than I-130.

Thank you,

Nobody so far was able to explain logically why USCIS would give somebody preference and process I-130 faster if free K-3 form was filed.

Nobody so far was able to prove correlation between K-3 filing and faster approval.

Occasionally, filers who had both I-130 and K-3 were approved fast. However, random luck also applies to different cases at USCIS. For example, while majority of I-751 filers wait around 2 years, some lucky users (less than 0.5%) get approved super fast, within a month. They don't file anything else special, they're not married to a member of military or anything else. Just regular people.

Yes, there is correlation between I-130 approval forcing K-3 getting closed. But I don't see how and why K-3 would speed up I-130 approval.

Good luck!

I got am email saying we were Documentarily Qualified (DQ) on March 13. The next step is waiting for the interview letter (IL) in th email.  Hoping everyone with Oct 2023 PD's have gotten their approvals from USCIS and processing at the NVC stage.

Our case got DQ at NVC on March 4, 2025. However, I have found that the wait for interview at Abu Dhabi Embassy is currently 18 months. So, 17 months for I- 130 approval and to get DQ, now another 18 months for interview, so total process for immediate relatives is at least 3 years. Of course, the time scenario could change further with Trump travel bans and his other immigration policies.

Congrats. How long after Approval did you get your nvc letter
