Hi! I know that this forum hasn't been active for a while but it'd be great to see how some fellow Oct 23 filers are doing! Me and my husband filed online on 10 October 2023, and our case has been under 'active review' since 23 October with VSC. Hoping to hear something soon, but those hopes aren't very high! How are y'all doing?

I started this thread after filing on Oct 8, 2023, and have been under active review since October 18.  The initial four months processing time estimate passed and now it is "taking longer than expected."

Sounds like we’re (unfortunately) in a similar position. We’ve had the “taking longer than expected “ message since early January. I reached out to a USCIS chat rep last month to see if I could get any update, but I was just referred to the processing times page, which says 14 months.

Just in case you’re not already using it, I’ve found https://hilites.today/uscis_cases/insights a really useful resource to see how similar cases are moving. This whole process has been pretty frustrating and we’ll be glad to see the end of it haha. I hope you hear something soon!

I'm hoping that the time will decrease from 14 months to 12 months or more. The best thing to do is to view other timelines and to see if they are being processed quicker

Hi everyone, recent I-130 June approval here (PD 11th of June 2023, approval 30th of July 2024). I wanted to share my experience with the USCIS timer.

I wanted to let everyone know to not trust the USCIS timer. Despite being approved, the estimated time still says '5months' (last month it was 10 months) and the home page still says 'currently being actively reviewed'. Over the course of our wait we got down to 1 week and then 'your case is taking longer than expected' about three times.

The most accurate measure have been THESE forums. I got approved the same day people from 10-13th of June 2023 got approved. However, some applicants from earlier in June are still waiting. So USCIS doesnt follow a strict chronological pattern.. and they also approve multiple days at once... so its more like general trends.

But yeah-- do not trust the approx time it is LIAR!

PS. we got an email saying 'action has been taken' and the approval letter was in the DOCUMENTS section of my.uscis. The homepage did NOT update from 'case is being actively reviewed'.

Hang in there! This process is awful for ones mental health.

Hi UK_dreamer

Congratulations on your I-130 being approved!

I have 6 (yes 6 😱) I-130s on file. Spouse and 5 kids. I am the USC and we all live in England going through the London embassy - fingers crossed.

According to the immigration timelines on Visa journey, Vermont (where Spouse visa is) is working on October 2023 now, which would be amazing but I assume that isn't correct 🤔 and that would mean they were running 4 months faster than Texas and Nebraska where my kid's I-130s are!

I can only hope and assume we are looking at 12/13 months truthfully and not 10 months as Vermont is showing...thoughts?

Also do you know if once a Spouse and father to kids' i130 is through, does it pull the kids through or are we waiting for kids to go through where they are? It's so frustrating that they have separated my whole family in different service centres 😢

Thank you 😊

Everyone says the petitions are processed separately and will come through at different times, and to wait at NVC stage until all are gathered as approved. BUT, from everything I've read of everyone's experiences, if you've correctly mentioned the others in each I-130 where it asks if they're immigrating together, they are typically approved simultaneously. One recent case on here of a June filer saw that her spouse got an RFE and the same day both kids were approved.

I do wonder about the different service centers though. We are also petitioning for 3 - spouse and two kids - and the spouse and one child is at Nebraska (transferred from Texas), and the other child is in California (transferred from Texas).

Lastly, I find California and Vermont processing times on VJ have been out of whack for a few months. They are fluctuating significantly. They're all approving mid-June right now.

Yes I am pretty sure I did mention everyone else on each i-130 so hopefully they will all go through together. I have 2 in Vermont, 3 Texas and 1 Nebraska. I think I will hold out hope for November! How long to interview in London from there? Some say 3 months from NVC. Need to sell the house but don't want to sell it too soon. 😕

I think London is 3-5 months on average from DQ date. I haven't really been following that stage as crazily as I have for I-130's, lol.

On the receipt notice they send, on the bottom left hand side it has the address...

Yes, that address will show you where it is. BUT, they're mostly transferred to different service centers. To find out where it is right now, you need to ask a live agent when chatting to Emma. I specifically asked them which service center each application was at. I actually asked twice a few weeks apart to confirm that one of the kids was truly at a different service center 😅
