I was in a Hezbollah tunnel – this is what awaits Israel

Had the tunnel not been discovered, Israel suspects it would have been used to launch a surprise assault on the north, perhaps to capture hostages and then take them back to Lebanon.

Hezbollah's tunnel network is now feared to have grown even more vast and sophisticated in the four years since its discovery, posing a challenge for Israel should it opt for a ground invasion of southern Lebanon.

Israel estimates that the tunnel network, which can be used for hiding shock troops for attacks or moving supplies, stretches for hundreds of kilometres.  [...]

Let's put it this way: no one's heard from the head of Hezbollah since the IDF struck its headquarters in Beirut a few hours ago.  When the air strike took place, Israel took care to note that they had no confirmation that Hassan Nasrallah got killed in the attack.

 

Since then, though, silence has spoken volumes.  If Nasrallah had survived, and especially if he hadn't been at their Dahiyeh underground complex, he surely would have gotten word out shortly after the attack.

Lebanese media started off reporting that Nasrallah survived and that a statement would get issued shortly.  That has changed, however:  [...]

Exploding Restaurant Buzzer Takes Out Hezbollah Party Of 6

 

BEIRUT — The carnage of surprise attacks on the terrorist organization in recent weeks continued in downtown Beirut today, as a party of six Hezbollah members was suddenly taken out by an apparent exploding restaurant buzzer.

The group of terrorists had reportedly taken a break from plotting the deaths of innocent civilians to grab dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, where they requested a table before being given a remote buzzer.  Moments later, witnesses reported an explosion.

"Ahmed!  Party of six!" the hostess shouted immediately following the explosion, apparently not noticing the remains of the Hezbollah members strewn throughout the restaurant's foyer.  "Ahmed?  Party of six?"  [...]

if the IDF got one or more thermobaric munitions into the tunnels, then that is huge. In such confined spaces, the effects would be devastating and reach far beyond what a conventional warhead could accomplish. 💀

 

So far, it seems the IDF is fighting a really smart war against Hezbollah.
