Israel killed a top Hezbollah figure who was wanted by the U.S. for his role in the 1983 bombings of the U.S. Embassy and a Marine Corps barracks that killed 300 people, the Israeli military confirmed Friday.

Hezbollah's operations commander, Ibrahim Aqil, was the subject of a $7 million State Department reward for information leading to his arrest.

As a spy thriller fan, I love reading about the clever gadgets the good guys use to vanquish the bad guys, which is why I've been fascinated by the story of Hezbollah's deadly exploding pagers.  How did Israel pull this off?  Was it really Israel who did this?  This attack is even more exacting than the exploding bed at the Iranian "safe" house.

Top Hezbollah Missile Commander Killed in Another Targeted Israeli Strike

 

If I were a Hezbollah commander of anything, I would check to see if my clothing has been made radioactive or if someone painted a big bullseye on my back.  Another of Hezbollah's top commanders has been taken out in a precision strike that makes us wonder who's left to kill.

Ibrahim Muhammad Qubaisi, commander of Hezbollah's missiles and rockets force, along with other Hezbollah commanders, were killed in a Beirut airstrike on Tuesday.  The strike was one of 500 sorties Israeli warplanes flew to weaken Hzbnollah's command and control structure and sow confusion in advance of what is widely expected to be an Israeli invasion.

Some Disassembly Required:  High-Tech Goes to War Against 7th-Century Savages

 

The origin of the rocketry term Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly (RUD) is shrouded in mystery but it's just the funny engineer's way of saying the rocket blew up.  What you've been witnessing in southern Lebanon these last several days is the Rapid Scheduled Disassembly of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, involving thousands of explosions instead of just one big one.

Terrorist group Hezbollah reportedly called on Iran to launch an attack on Israel after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of devastating assaults the organization in Lebanon, according to reports from Israeli officials.

Iran has refrained from intervening so far, citing concerns about the timing as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is attending the U.N. General Assembly in New York, Axios reported.
