I do not think it was widely communicated.  I heard TBone refer to it once in passing about a year ago.  I came very close to mentioning it in my post, but wasn’t sure it was my place.

I understand it is tricky and not sure what the solution is.

I assume most people just move on, I think I assumed he just decided to do so. Maybe an In Memoriam thread but in most cases who would know?

Yeah, I agree, it would definitely be difficult as who would know.  I think in the case of Geowrain, he was a mod or organizer, so that subset of members probably were notified.

And presumably only because his wife said something.

Sadly, geowrian passed away in 2020, days after his last VJ post 😢  Logins after that were by his wife.

Oh, no, I had no idea. Truly one of the sage members on this site. A great loss...

He told us privately.  After a couple of cancer remissions, it returned, and he decided that he didn't want to fight it yet again.  He was only in his mid- or late 30s.

Please refrain from sending messages to his widow, who continues to quietly use that account for her own process.

I had no idea he passed and no idea how young. He was one the of the greats here, so sad to hear.

I feel gutted I did not know, always posted to the point. Did I miss something?

He was sick and going through chemo.   We had private messaged about it, since I’m a chemo nurse.

He is very much missed, such a kind and smart soul.
