Hi everyone! I know this thread is from a while ago but it seems to have the most potential for answering my questions.

I am a dual citizen, US and Chile. Have been living in Chile for the last 5 years. I haven't made enough foreign income to reach the tax threshold previously but I think now that we're married, I do? I talked to a CPA in the USA and they told me to just file the 1040NR EZ. Is anyone else a dual US citizen and have they done this? Or have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!

You are a US citizen, not an alien.  Do not use form 1040NR.  Also, 1040NR-EZ is now obsolete.  I recommend consulting a more competent tax professional, with lots of experience with USC international taxpayers -- https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/us-citizens-and-resident-aliens-abroad
