W2 comes from employer to file tax returns

if getting SSA or retirement  they would send 1099

1099 R  for retirement

SSA 1099 for social security

The IRS lists 21 different 1099 forms. If you acquire property or an interest in property in lieu of an unpaid debt. If you sell, receive, or exchange qualified investments or services such as stocks or commodities through brokers or barter exchanges.Mar 28, 2023

Only 1099-INT would come from bank.

W2 & 1099 are IRS forms.  Your employer or bank would have sent you the filled-out W2 or 1099 form to file your 1040 tax return.

There is also one on the IRS website. I think it's called Wages and taxes. Some people have reported submitting that as well. Honestly, this whole process is a spaghetti .
I may as well send them both just to be on the safe side.
Thanks for your help. Much appreciated

Hi! Where do I get the W2/1099 from? I also thought just submitting the tax transcript would suffice but now they are asking for W2/1099. Any help would be appreciated :)

If they are asking for these, that means they want ALL schedules that were used when completing your tax return (1040). As already stated, a W2 comes from an employer. If you did contract work, you may have also received 1099(s) from any company you contracted with (this often includes gig work).
