Processing time between Amman embassy and Beirut embassy for a Syrian IR5 visa

I am petitioning the I-130 for my mom -a Syrian citizen- to immigrate to the US as a US citizen myself and I am at the process of choosing the embassy. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience and whether their choice affected the wait times for the visa. Does anyone have any clue if choosing one over the other would make a difference. She will be getting the IR5 visa.

It could have a huge impact on wait time, yes. Waiting times for interviews can be as little as 3 months after being DQ'ed, or 2+ years, depending on the consulate. 

 

But you don't normally get to pick, it's normally whichever consulate serves wherever she's resident. Don't know if it's different as a Syrian though? If so, what are the options?

Syrians are able to interview at either the Beirut or Amman embassy, since there is no consulate available in Syria. As far as I know, those are the only options!

But where is she actually resident? Does she live in Syria or somewhere else?

Yes, she lives in Syria.
