I just saw my N400 interview has been scheduled!! What documents are required aside from the requested documents. Also, I owe taxes from 2022 filed in 2023. How do I get letter from the IRS stating I have an installment payment plan? Does anyone have experience with this?

In my case I was following via app (Case Tracker), so I first got the notification there. Then I logged on USCIS, documents tab and saw the details for the interview and finally got the letter in the mail only a couple of weeks after that.
The interview was scheduled on Dec 26,2023 for Feb 02,2024 - so roughly 5 weeks out.
I would not rely on the estimated time for decision showing on the site. That’s just an estimate of processing time for your FO (mine showed 5 months up until the day of the interview/oath ceremony)

Thank you so much for replying! 🙏
I am checking the USCIS page which keeps changing estimated waiting time. It's now been on three months for a few days.
Forgive me for asking, what does FO stand for?

Can anyone please point to me which case tracker is an official USCIS one, I'm asking about the phone app, because I do follow the website on my laptop, and some of you have said the app is more current. Help???

Thank you kindly!

Yes, I'm getting nervous as I applies on October 30th and it appears many people have already finished even if they filed after me.
I know quite a few of us are in the same boat. 🙏

There is no official tracker app.

There's website https://egov.uscis.gov/

Many case tracker apps query this official website to get statuses of cases, because no login is required to see any case status.

My husband submitted N-400 application online 10/20/2023

Still no interview :(

I know we should be patient, but we see a lot of people getting their interviews and they filed after him. I’m hoping we get good news soon. Thanks to this forum, I know not to trust the estimated processing time (it currently says 4 months*).  We are from The Bronx and our field office is NYC.  Any October filers from NYC?

I hear you. I've seen posts of people file in December and already got interviews. I'm not in NYC, but from Chicago. I figured maybe bigger cities are busier and have more workload..?

Hi there!  Thank you for responding. I saw another post on this site that mentioned they are from NYC, they filed in Nov ‘23 and already have an interview. I have no idea if it’s due to being in a big city.  I think it’s at random.  It’s pretty nerve wracking though.  Hopefully our statuses change soon. When did you file?

Not sure about an official tracker as I just login, but I sympathize with you on the nervous part!  My husband and I check daily since we applied on 10/20/23. Maybe we shouldn’t check everyday lol 😭

FO= Field Office. It’s where you’ll do your interview

I don’t think there’s an official one. I used this one: https://usciscasetracker.com/ which is free and doesn’t require you to logon with your USCIS account info.

I also used Lawfully in the beginning and found their stats helpful (only switched to case tracker once the free trial period for Lawfully ended 😊)

Hello, everyone!

Just wanted to share an update: I filed online Oct 9, 2023 and got the notification for interview on Feb 4, 2024 (2 days ago) that I was scheduled for next month, Mar 19. I am in the Charlotte Field Office. I hope that was helpful for those who are still waiting-- there doesn't seem to be a precise order so let's hold on to hope they get to you soon! :)

I had my interview today and was approved. It was the easiest part of the process. I arrived at 11:30am, my appt time was 11:55am but they called me after only maybe 10 mins of waiting and I was out of the building at 12pm.

First I was asked to take a photo and do index finger prints only, then the officer asked me to show my greencard & passport.  I was asked 6 questions for civics, asked to write a simple sentence on a tablet (We pay taxes.), read out-loud a sentence on a tablet & then she asked me to confirm address, how long I’ve lived there, date of marriage, if I have children etc.  then all the ‘are you a terrorist?’ Style questions lol.

Then I had to sign some things and that was it. I was handed a piece of paper saying they recommend my case for approval and verbally told there’s a back log right now of people needing oath ceremonies so I’ll likely have it sometime in March or April.  The app is updated already to say the oath ceremony will be scheduled and I’ll be sent a letter in the mail.

If anyone has any specifically questions I’ll do my best to answer. I was very anxious so have forgotten a lot already 😂

Best of luck to everyone waiting on news. 😊

Congratulations!!!  You did it!!!!  Watch your online USCIS account.  The oath notification will be posted there long before it arrives in the mail......

Congratulations!! Can you remember the 6 civil questions?
