Why concurrent filing is not an option? Is petitioner an LPR? Or beneficiary in removal proceedings?

My wife is a citizen of Iran. There really isn't a route for her to come to the US quickly on any kind of visa — she has to do all this overseas, and not even in her home country. It's my understanding that that rules her out of a concurrent I-130 and I-485 filing.

Yes, I-485 is only for people filing inside the US already.

Yes, consular processing is slow, especially in certain countries.

Just wanted to say that although I did not participate much in the thread I read every post and it help me immensely not feel like I was the only one going crazy while waiting for the USCIS approval. We got our approval this morning. Wanted to also mention that my case status still says "Case is Being Actively Reviewed by USCIS" and in myProgress is still says 7 months; but when I went into documents there was an I-130 approval dated for today attached. Last thing to mention was my case was originally showing at the Texas Service Center but the approval came from the Vermont Service Center. Assuming they did an internal transfer as Texas seems so behind right now.

I-130 application submitted: 09/21/2023

NOA1 - 09/29/2023

NOA2 - 01/10/2025

I did the application online.

Thank you for this. Ours was submitted 09/22/2023, so this gives us hope. It's the weekend now, so hopefully in the coming week at some point... good luck with the next part of the process.

Do all of you have a status somewhere that says "Case is being actively reviewed"? Or does that happen shortly before you're actually approved? Mine has never evolved beyond "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent."

It showed me 2 days before approval, same thing, because previously it said,  case it took longer than normal time

Yes, ours updated to case being actively reviewed exactly a week after. But I personally think that was triggered because our petitions were transferred to different service centers. That's just a guess of mine. Because no one is actually reviewing anything other than 30 mins before approval.

I believe concurrent filing is only available to spouses of US citizens who are adjusting status within the US.

Just search on this platform to get more information.

Hello Friends. I received my approval today after 16 months of waiting.

NOA1: September 22, 2023

NOA2: January 14, 2025

Congrats! We have the same NOA1 date. Did you get a notification or you just logged in and saw it by chance under docs tab before the notification came through?

Also did you notice any changes in the 'myprogress' tab in the past day? Ours went from 5 months to 22 months... I know these don't mean much but I just wondered if the shift meant it was assigned to someone or anything - any clue. Clutching at straws!

You should get an e-mail that says "We have taken an action on your case".

You can ignore My Progress, it is truly meaningless.
