I have just gotten an RFE for my husbands divorce degree and am now wondering if NVC checks everything and sends out all RFEs at once or if they trickle in. I am fairly certain that due to a computer hick up my employment history is not complete and therefore expected an RFE. So now the question is: would they have addressed it with the RFE for the divorce or will there be another one?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Not necessarily.  RFEs can come at any time during the process.  I have seen RFEs freeze a case until answered.  Then another RFE sent for a separate issue.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Well noone to blame but myself, but thanks for the answer. I guess we will be at NVC for a while. But hey, better then being stuck on the I 130.

You never know.  They might not send an RFE.

BTW, in January of 2017 (after 12 weeks at NVC), we received an RFE (checklist) from NVC regarding a couple documents my attorney failed to send them.  It took another 12 weeks to get "case complete" status.  Yes, our case was at NVC for 24 weeks.  I think they process a little faster these days.  Good luck.

Actually they are far quicker then we anticipated. I think it was just under 3 weeks for the welcome letter, despite a wait time of 61 days according to their website. They needed another 3 days to process payment and after submitting the papers on Monday we had the RFE the same week Friday.

And look I have gotten incredibly lucky on the I-130 so I refuse to complain, even if we have to write back and forth a few more times.

With the I-130 we got really lucky, they received it April 20th, 2023 and forwarded August 27th, 2023 to NVC. Never had an RFE, but for that part we actually used a lawyer. The first time around with green card was pre-internet and a complete utter mess 😉 Was not going through that again!

You can send an inquiry to NVC and ask to reopen the IV application for correction.

if it is that big of a deal, I would

I highly doubt you would get an RFE from NVC about your employment history.  That said, you still should correct your employment info prior to your interview with the consul officer.  You can update your DS-260 at the consulate on the day of your visa interview.

Well we just got DQed! Now to see how long they take to schedule the interview at Frankfurt. But already made the appointment for the medical.

Who would have thought that I actually might get done this year. So thankful for the speed with which I went through this process so far.
