Male from some African countries and MENA will mostly go through the additional dreaded DS5535 form due to high fraud, especially if any flags are raised in the application.

Good luck

That’s not true…. Two factors as to do with 221g either background checks or documents are missing as well the beneficial did not know much information about the petitioner even the visa that was issued during the interview still goes through administration process which is 221G

Thanks so much for your responses,  but keeping the passport dose it mean they will issue the visa

Them keeping your passport in 89% of your getting your visa if all documents of your are provided to them… my own passport was returned to me and I was asked to send my passport back with the documents requested. All you need right now is for your case status to change to issued.

I got this response from the embassy after some months?

The administrative processing on your case is complete. Please confirm if you would be able to travel before January 21, 2024 if your visa is issued.

Please know that, your visa validity is tied to the validity of your medical report. Your current medical report will expire on January 21, 2024. It is mandatory that your medical report is valid before you travel. If you are unable to travel before that date, please let us know so we can intimate on next steps.

That's great news. Now sort out your flights and confirm to the embassy you can travel before the date listed so you don't have to do yet another medical exam.
